V6.0 Software

Welcome to the Version 6 Software Upgrade

 

DASDEC Version 6 is the latest release in the ongoing development of this award-winning platform. It features the following enhancements:

  • New operating system incorporating the latest security standards.

  • Security options now include support for Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) notation.

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 filesystem option for MPEG-DASH alert data.

  • LEAP™ Legacy EAS Adapter Process for direct import of SAGE configuration files saves valuable time.

  • New display height and width options supporting 4K displays.

  • HALO™ upgrades enable remote software downloads via the Software Distribution Module (HALO-SDM).

  • Substantial improvements for AES67 – LiveWire®

 

Version 6 now includes the PLUS Package for active Encoder devices. Previously, this was a $495 option, but it’s now part of V6. While this applies to Encoder units, Decoder-only devices can be upgraded by adding the DAS-ENCS option. Contact sales@digitalalertsystems.com for more information.

 

A few of the PLUS Package enhancements include:

  • Instant alert visibility with automatic browser refresh

  • Expanded audio support, including MP3 and OGG Vorbis streaming formats

  • Front-panel audible alerts for immediate operator awareness

  • Customizable alert messaging, including text and audio adjustments

  • Live sequencing of manually forwarded alerts

Please note that this upgrade may be a lengthy process, depending on the amount of historical data, hardware performance, network speed, and other factors. Upgrade times can range from 15 minutes to several hours. Ensure power remains on and the process is uninterrupted throughout the entire upgrade. 

 

Version 6 can ONLY be installed on:
 

  • DASDEC-IIIs
     

  • Systems currently running software V5.2 or higher, including V5.4. If upgrading from any version prior to V5.2, please contact our support team for additional instructions.

 

  • The device must have an active Internet connection to the upgrade server.
    If an active Internet connection is unavailable, please contact our support team for further instructions.

 

IMPORTANT: You MUST have a Version 6 Enabling Key license to complete the Version 6.0 upgrade.

How-To-Order the V6.0 Enabling Key

Purchasing and installing Version 6.0 is only available for DASDEC-III models running version 5.2 or higher.

 

The company will continue to support customers with V5.4 but understand that no new developments or updates are planned at this time. All new features and functions are moving forward under the new Version 6 development path.

 

As noted above, Version 6 is only supported by DASDEC-III hardware. Customers with incompatible DASDECs or One-Nets please visit our UP-TRADE page (UP•TRADE Program) for information on upgrading your platform, which includes Version 6.0 as well as several other benefits.
 

There are several ways to order the V6.0 Enabling Key

Order Fulfillment

A V6.0 Enable License Key for each serial number will be emailed to the appropriate designee along with the V6.0 Download link password to access the download site. Users will be greeted with information and download instructions on the download site, including details on the model and software packages to complete the upgrade.

Already have a key?

If you already have the V6.0 Enabling Key simply proceed to the <V6 Upgrade ...>  link and follow the instructions. You will need the Download Link password to enter the site. Contact support@digitalalertsystems.com if you need access credentials. Again, include your serial number for verification purposes.
