Digital Alert Systems Appoints Regional Representatives
Strategic Partnerships Provide Broadcasters With Greater Access to the Company's Advanced DASDEC (CAP-Compatible) EAS Encoder/Decoder
ORACLE, Ariz. — June 1, 2008 — Digital Alert Systems, LLC, a pioneering developer of enhanced Emergency Alert System (EAS) solutions, has partnered with several major regional representatives to provide broadcasters with its DASDEC digital EAS encoder/decoder.
The representatives of Digital Alert Systems' solutions are OmniVue, covering the Northeast United States; Heartland Video Systems for the Midwest; Kelly Broadcast Sales for California; and Phillip Smith Associates, serving the Southeast United States. All companies offer extensive experience in providing innovative professional video, multimedia, and A/V products to the broadcast industry.
Partnering with the well-known manufacturers' representatives will make Digital Alert Systems' DASDEC more readily accessible to U.S. broadcasters, who are faced with the need to upgrade their systems to achieve new capabilities and meet changing regulatory requirements. As EAS requirements continue to evolve around CAP (Common Alerting Protocol) compatibility, the DASDEC will continue to provide users with current EAS compliance while offering advanced features, such as LAN-based communications methods and technology, to support the emergence of a final CAP definition from FEMA.
"We have selected very experienced partners who understand broadcast and the changing EAS landscape in the digital broadcasting world," said Bruce Robertson, COO of Digital Alert Systems. "All companies have a vast amount of experience supplying solutions and support to the broadcasting industry, and by offering our DASDEC, they can offer their customers a complete digital-compliant EAS package with optional upgrades to insure CAP compliance."
For broadcasters, the DASDEC offers several advanced tools, including MultiStation software that allows one DASDEC to control up to five collocated stations in either auto or manual forwarding modes; several AES audio solutions; programmable GPIO; an interface to most CGs, including SAGE generic or TFT standard protocols, and, for the future, network communications with master control systems when defined. The most significant advanced offering is the DASDEC's compatibility with CAP, allowing current units an optional software upgrade.
