Latest official release software is version 1.8-1 (Available Aug 14,2008)

We continue to listen to our customers needs.

This is an important update release of DASDEC/OneNet 1.8 level software. This release supports many useful enhancements to the 1.8-0 feature set. There are also a few very important bug fixes.
DAS recommends installation on ALL DASDECs in the field. All new DASDEC units will be shipped with this software as of today.
This release contains all of the features and bug fixes from earlier software releases. It can be used to upgrade any level of DASDEC software.

New Features added in 1.8-1 since 1.8-0:
  • New licensed features:
    • Expansion GPIO board - a new licensed feature that supports a PCI board option for 8 additional GPIO inputs and outputs for use in control by wire.
  • New standard features:
    • Added configurable support for audio loop option. Supports continuous playback of EAS audio during video display.
    • Added offshore Pacific and Atlantic timezones relevant to the US EAS system.
    • Expanded support for WAV files.
    • User controlled resampling of imported WAV file to system sample rate.
  • New Broadcast mode features: 
    • Improved handling of blocked alerts.
    • Added manual release buttons in Web interface for a held alert. Also added option to release using the front panel button.

    • New Expired alerts display controller that provides much better date range control.
    • The contents of Backup Config and Audio file selectors are sorted.
    • Improved status information displayed for audio files. Added display of mono/stereo for audio files under audio test page. Also added note when an audio file will require resampling.
    • Added control of Video Details page duration.
    • Improved view of alert events by using a scrollable window for FIPS codes in event display pages when more than 4 FIPS are present.
    • Added new useful standard links at page bottom.
    • Alert event page display auto-refresh now maintains current scroll position.
    • FIPS codes for Encoder->Send EAS->General EAS are now persistent between software restarts.
    • Improved labels and organization.
  • Improved EAS options
    • Front panel LCD displays alert Hold state.
    • Support for setting decoded alert update expiration policy based on matching EAS Station ID.
    • Added decoder user labels to logging and to event text files.
    • Added support for One button RWT alert audio.
  • Improved Network EAS options
    • Added optional EAS NET TCP protocol data send IP address.
    • Added support for EAS NET send ipon decode event to optionally send station specific forwarding translation,header info, and audio.
    • Added support for disabling serial/audio/video/streaming alert play out for non National alerts. Primary use is to allow Network only alert forwarding.
    • Added support for EAS NET send alert info upon decode.
    • Added TCP ancillary data files transfer option to EAS NET.
    • Added support for EAS NET decode to process and display Custom Messages from another DASDEC or from a remote EAS NET client.
    • Added support for Evertz Networked EAS via EAS NET DVS168.
    • Added support IGMPV3 and Input Port fields in SCTE18 MPGASYNC private descriptor.
    • Added support for the three new SCTE18 descriptors approved in 2007.
  • Improved Custom message options
    • Added support for Custom Messages sent via EAS NET send to a remote DASDEC to be played on that DASDEC. Also added support for stopping the message playout from the sending unit.
    • Added label for Custom Messages within report files.
    • Added pre/post alert audio option to custom messages.
    • Added support for SCTE18 network send during every custom EAS message replay.
Bug fix notes for 1.8-1:
Nearly 30 bug fixes are included in this release.  One serious bug was a memory leak in the Web server module during display of alerts for Decoder and Encoder pages. This affects broadcasters who auto-refresh the Incoming/Decoded alert page. Make sure you upgrade to this release if you regularly use the Decoder event auto-refresh feature.   • New licensed features:
    • Multistation control - a new licensed broadcast feature. This feature allows one DASDEC to manage EAS origination and forwarding for up to five different broadcast stations.
    • Custom Messaging with text to speech - a new licensed feature. Allows non-EAS messages to be displayed on DASDEC connected peripherals. Supports automatic conversion of details text to spoken audio.
  • New standard features:
    • Demo decode. Added a practice/demonstration decode alert option to test decoding and forward interface. This standard feature allows a user to generate Demo alerts as if they were decoded. Great for learning how to use the manual and automatic forwarding options prior to encountering genuine alerts.
    • Minumum Disk space management. Automatic storage maintenance based on minimum disk space requirements. This will keep the DASDEC from running out of storage space. It will delete the oldest event data first and tune alert storage parameters.
    • Added optional Post-alert audio during orgination and forwarding and to one button weekly test. This allows an audio message to be played after an alert finishes.
  • New Broadcast mode features: 
    • Configurable audio preview channel. This can be used to review audio on selected audio outputs before forwarding.
    • Added optional ability to retranslate station ID and custom ORG translation in CG text when alerts are forwarded.
    • Added programmable GPO 1 with new options and FIPS and EAS code filtering.
    • Added ability to configure substitute audio for Monthly test.
  • Serial protocol enhancements:
    • Added support for running TFT standard protocol on expansion serial ports. Also added new TFT support options, such as no audio during pre-alert notification, support for post and pre-alert audio, and forced playout timeout configuration.
    • Added write throttle control for Sage Generic CG protocol. This can slow down serial data transmission.
    • Added support for Sage News Room serial protocol for USB serial ports.
  • GPIO enhancements:
    • Added FIPS and EAS code filters to GPO relay 1 for broadcast mode.
    • Added programmable options to GPO relay 1 for broadcast mode.
    • Added momentary closure option for GPO for start and end of EAS Audio.
    • Added GPI input support for the AES card. This adds two new GPI inputs to DASDECS with the AES audio hardware option.
    • New Net GPIO hardware. Added support for Web Relay Dual module with 2 relay outputs & 2 inputs.
    • New GPI input actions for Net GPIO and GPI 2 for: a.acknowledging an unacknowledged, unforwarded alert; b. playing active decoded alert audio; c. forwarding an active decoded Monthly test with original alert audio; d. reenable a forwarded alert.
    • New LED alert status state. During alert GPI hold, Red alert status LED flashes quiickly until alert is sent or times out.
    • Improved logged messages for alerts held pending GPI 1 contact closure.

    • New toggles provide user controlled optional display of some features on Send EAS and Decoder Event pages. Action tables, audio file recording, audio upload, and direct event access interfaces are among those that can be optionally displayed to limit visual clutter.
    • Faster page refresh time for Decoded Incoming alerts.
    • New audio monitoring buttons on Setup->Audio->Radio Tuners page greatly simplify task of listening to the radios.
    • Disk space usage stats are printed on the Setup->Alert Storage page.

This was a maintenance release and DAS recommended installation into DASDEC units using Spanish translation.
 
Features and Enhancements:
  1. Adds EAS signal autoscale control. Automatically boosts low incoming EAS signal levels.
  2. Adds auto snapshot after error decode. Improves post-mortem analysis after a failed EAS decode.
  3. Adds manual open/close buttons for EAS Audio GPO relays.
  4. Added ability to configure an audio override message for Monthly tests.
  5. Adds toggle for user permission level help explanation.
  6. The globally displayed server name is now an active link to the Setup->Server->Main License page.
